By Industrial Designer at Zoku
Living in NYC, I am exposed to so many great food options from around the world and with a tap of my smartphone I can have it delivered right to my doorstep. But as you know food delivery can be pricey, so I try to only order food once a week on the weekends. So what do I do on weekdays? I eat what I prepared on my designated cooking day.
We are all creatures of habit and I am no different. Living solo I have a weekly cooking routine I follow to maintain a functional and financially feasible way of life.
HOW I MEAL PREP
Here is my weekly routine:
1. Make shopping list by Thursday
2. Go grocery shopping on Saturday
3. Cook on Sunday
4. Pack in containers for easy lunch and dinner for the week
So basically I cook once a week and throw my creations in the fridge/freezer so I can warm up my dishes on a daily basis. Time saved not having to cook during the week enables me to continue binging TV shows, sleep on time, and most importantly save money for my weekend delivery funds!
When I cook on the weekends, I often go online to find tasty recipes as well as tricks/hacks to make meal-prep more efficient for people like myself.
